Why Shop the Formula Boats Super Sport Crossover Series?

The Formula Boats Super Sport Crossover Series is built around full-width crossover cockpits, open bows, substantial cabins and offshore-capable power packages that scale from 36 feet to a 50-foot flagship.

SSC is the point where Formula stops building a cabin into a bowrider and starts building a true luxury crossover around a full-width coupe cockpit, overnight accommodations and serious offshore systems.

The current SSC family includes 360, 380, 400, 430 and 500. The 360 is new enough that leaving it out would create a gap at the front of the series, so this package includes it.

The propulsion story changes repeatedly. The 360 is outboard-only, 380 supports sterndrive or outboard architectures, 400 and 430 are large quad-outboard platforms, and 500 standardizes the flagship around quad V12 600s.

Formula gives buyers enough propulsion and layout choice that the category name alone is not a buying decision. The exact engine architecture, cabin plan and storage infrastructure need to be chosen together.

Cabin capability also scales differently from length. The 360 and 380 already support real overnight use, 400 and 430 add more separation and yacht systems, while 500 crosses into residential galley, separate stateroom and Seakeeper territory.

The right series page should help a buyer reject the wrong model before price becomes the focus.

Found the Super Sport Crossover You Want?

Start your application with the exact 360, 380, 400, 430 or 500 SSC details with engine count, model year, generator or stabilization equipment, cabin specification and asking price.

How to Choose the Right Super Sport Crossover

Choose the SSC by how much enclosed-yacht capability the owner actually needs. The 360 is the compact full-coupe entry and remains outboard-focused. The 380 adds more cabin and allows a sterndrive versus outboard decision. The 400 and 430 move into quad-outboard ownership with larger social and sleeping zones. The 500 becomes a true yacht-scale platform.

Engine count should be solved before cabin finish. Twin versus triple versus quad propulsion changes fuel burn, redundancy, steering, service cost and the amount of engine value tied to the transaction.

Then compare beam and marina infrastructure. The 360 starts at 11 feet 3 inches, while the 500 reaches 14 feet 6 inches and more than 53 feet overall. Slip availability and haul-out capacity can decide the model before the buyer ever compares staterooms.

Sleeping layout is the next filter. The 380 can sleep four. The 400 separates sleeping zones. The 430 expands the coupe and social path. The 500 adds a separate queen stateroom and residential-style galley.

The best SSC is not the largest one the borrower can finance. It is the smallest crossover whose cabin, coupe and power package make the owner’s normal trips easier.

SSC Ownership Scales Into Yacht Territory

The 360 and 380 are already complex boats, but the upper SSC range multiplies systems quickly. Three or four outboards mean multiple lower units, props, charging circuits and service histories. The 380 may also use twin sterndrives, creating a completely different engine-room and transom-drive maintenance plan.

Fuel grows from 275 gallons on the 360 to 650 on the 500. A full tank becomes a major operating cost and adds thousands of pounds to loaded displacement. Range planning should therefore use actual cruise burn and reserve.

Coupe glass, powered sunroofs, climate zones, refrigeration, freshwater, private heads and cabin systems need routine exercise. Boats that sit closed up can develop battery, drain and moisture issues even with low engine hours.

The 500 adds a 16-kW generator, Seakeeper 9, 100 gallons of freshwater, 60-gallon holding capacity and residential-style cabin equipment. Those systems move maintenance expectations closer to a yacht than a bowrider.

Marina infrastructure should be priced early. Wide slips, shore power, pump-out, fuel access, travel-lift capacity and technicians who can service the installed Mercury package are part of normal use.

Insurance should reflect navigation range, total horsepower and replacement value. The monthly loan only works when the annual operating budget can support the systems that make an SSC worth owning.

Formula Super Sport Crossover Questions

The package covers 360, 380, 400, 430 and 500 Super Sport Crossover.

Formula currently lists the 360 as part of the Super Sport Crossover family, so leaving it out would make the series package incomplete.

The 380 is the key model in this requested group with current Formula material supporting sterndrive as well as outboard configurations.

The 500 SSC publishes 650 gallons of fuel and uses quad Mercury V12 600 Verados.

The 400 and 430 are current quad-outboard platforms, and the 500 also uses four V12 600s.

Cabin capability increases throughout the range, but the 500 is the yacht-scale choice with a separate queen stateroom, residential galley and extensive hotel systems.

Prioritize propulsion, joystick or steering, generator, climate, sunroof or coupe hardware, helm electronics, freshwater, head systems, cabin moisture and any stabilization equipment.

Potentially. The actual model year, engine package, value, condition, seller and borrower qualifications determine the financing conversation.

Choose the SSC That Matches the Trip, Not the Badge

Once engine count, cabin capability and marina infrastructure are correct, financing can be structured around the SSC that actually fits the owner’s cruising plans.
