The M Series is Bennington’s premium-luxury bridge between the more attainable S and L families and the higher-output R and Q lines. It is aimed at buyers who want a noticeably richer interior and helm environment without automatically moving into the most expensive Bennington catalog.

Current M boats are built around personalization. Bennington offers Standard, Sport, and Luxe trim directions, several seating layouts, and pontoon or tritoon performance packages. That means the model code is only one layer of the purchase.

The two floorplans in the M family make the point clearly. MFB stands for Fastback Quad Bench. It uses four chaise zones and a Fastback stern for a conventional social layout with generous storage and fixed passenger seating. MSB is Swingback. It uses two bow chaise lounges and an aft sun pad with a reversible backrest that can face forward or toward the water.

Both floorplans carry the M-Series technology story. Bennington highlights Vivid UX, dedicated vessel controls, integrated storage, extended aft decks, LilliPad boarding ladders, premium Rockford Fosgate audio, and Veneto Soft Touch furniture across current M models.

Performance can range just as widely as the furniture. Bennington markets the current M Line from moderate single-outboard power to compatible 500-horsepower builds. Express, SPS, SPS Plus, and ESP packages change the tubes, lifting hardware, steering, fuel arrangement, and engine envelope underneath the same premium deck.

That is why a useful M-Series buying guide cannot assign one weight, capacity, tank size, or horsepower figure to every 24 MSB or 22 MFB. The actual performance package and capacity plate are part of the model.

Published overall length also matters more than the nominal badge. Current M floorplans run from 23 feet 3 inches on the 21 family to 28 feet 3 inches on the 26. A buyer who shops from the first two digits alone can badly underestimate storage and slip requirements.

The M Series is best for someone who wants to choose how the premium boat works, not just what color it is. Start with floorplan and true overall length, then choose the chassis and engine that fit the crew.

Premium seating is one of the immediate distinctions. Bennington uses Veneto Premium Soft Touch furniture on current M floorplans, with Sport and Luxe trim styles changing the visual treatment and lumbar design.

The helm is another step. Vivid UX is central to the current M story, and Bennington’s M-Line page describes a 7-inch main display paired with vessel controls for direct access to boat information, lighting, and audio. Sport and Luxe trim material also highlights upgraded helm treatments and wireless charging.

Storage is designed rather than treated as leftover space. Bennington specifically calls out dedicated places for towels, coolers, bags, and everyday gear. On a pontoon intended to host a large crew, that organization has more value than an additional decorative surface.

The extended aft deck is also standard to the current M experience. Bennington describes the M deck as longer at the stern, and current model specifications pair it with the LilliPad boarding ladder.

Exterior styling uses Bennington’s Dock Speed design language with a swooping bow and modern rail treatment. The visual goal is to make the boat look premium at idle and at the dock instead of relying only on high-speed styling cues.

Finally, performance packages allow the M to behave like more than a basic twin-tube cruiser. Express can support lighter engines, SPS adds a full third tube and hydraulic steering, and ESP targets higher horsepower. The buyer decides how much of that capability is actually necessary.

M Series vs. S, L, R, and Q

The right comparison is not simply “more expensive equals better.” M wins when the buyer wants premium-luxury materials and technology but still prefers the flexibility and relative simplicity of the M platform.

S Series

Choose S when value, broad floorplan choice, and a lower entry price matter more than M-Series furniture, storage, and helm treatment. A heavily optioned S can overlap an entry M, so compare what is standard before adding every upgrade.

L Series

L is the closest step below M in Bennington's luxury ladder. It can deliver premium layouts and strong performance at a lower starting point. Move to M when the redesigned interior, Vivid UX environment, M storage solutions, and trim choices justify the additional spend.

R Series

R moves into Bennington's ultimate-luxury category with more aggressive performance potential, twin-engine availability on compatible configurations, and a higher price floor. It makes sense when the M's single-engine ceiling or feature set no longer matches the buyer.

Q Series

Q and QX occupy the pinnacle tier. They are appropriate when maximum styling, width choices, twin engines, and top-level materials are part of the purchase goal rather than unnecessary cost.

Send Float Finance the actual listing, including the full model code, trim, engine, performance package, seller, and purchase price. M-Series value can change materially with the chassis beneath the furniture.

How to Choose the Right Bennington M

Choose the stern first. MFB is the straightforward Fastback Quad Bench answer. Four chaise zones remain ready for passengers all day, and storage stays tied to conventional fixed seating. MSB is for buyers who want the stern to change function through the Swingback.

Choose true length next. The 21 family publishes 23’3″ overall, the 22 is 24’3″, the 23 is 25’3″, the 24 is 26’3″, and the 26 reaches 28’3″. Those are real dock and storage differences.

Then choose trim. Standard focuses on M-Series essentials and Veneto seating. Sport adds a more athletic furniture treatment and upgraded helm styling. Luxe takes the same premium technology direction but uses a more refined visual treatment.

After that, choose the performance package. A family that cruises protected water at moderate speed may be satisfied without the most expensive tritoon hardware. Watersports, heavy passenger loads, and higher horsepower make SPS or ESP more compelling.

Only then should the engine be selected. The M Line reaches up to 500 horsepower on compatible configurations, but buying maximum power before deciding how the boat will be used reverses the correct order.

What M Series Ownership Actually Costs

The M Series is still a single-outboard pontoon family, which keeps the mechanical layout simpler than Bennington’s twin-engine upper lines. That does not make it inexpensive to own.

Outboard service depends on brand and horsepower. Higher-output engines can increase fluid, propeller, battery, and insurance costs, while active watersports use can accelerate service intervals.

Performance-package hardware deserves care beneath the deck. Inspect tubes, lifting strakes, wave shields, hydraulic steering, and any signs of impact or lift damage.

Premium upholstery and electronics add another ownership layer. Vivid UX, audio, wireless charging, lighting, and upgraded helm components are valuable because they are used every outing, but replacement costs are higher than on a basic analog pontoon.

The extended aft deck and LilliPad ladder see constant traffic. Keep fasteners, hinges, and moving parts clean and operating smoothly.

Storage can be the largest hidden cost as size increases. A 21 M at 23’3″ and a 26 M at 28’3″ do not belong in the same marina or trailer budget simply because both are M models.

A realistic annual budget should include insurance, fuel, outboard service, winterization where required, dock or storage, trailer or lift maintenance, batteries, canvas, cleaning, and a repair reserve.

Financing should sit inside that ownership budget rather than consuming it.

Price the Exact M Build

A 22 MFB pontoon and a 22 MFB SPS or ESP tritoon can be very different purchases. The same applies to Standard, Sport, and Luxe trim. Send the actual boat before treating any monthly figure as meaningful.

Bennington M Series Questions

MFB is Bennington’s Fastback Quad Bench layout, built around four chaise seating zones and a Fastback stern. MSB is Swingback, using an aft sun pad with a reversible backrest so passengers can face forward or toward the water. The better layout depends on whether fixed seating or stern flexibility matters more.

Bennington’s current lineup includes M floorplans at 21, 22, 23, 24, and 26 nominal sizes, while the main M marketing page describes the line as 22 to 26 feet. Individual current model specifications publish actual LOA from 23’3″ through 28’3″, so use the exact model specification rather than the broad marketing range.

Bennington markets the M Line up to 500 horsepower on compatible configurations. The exact limit depends on model, tube package, and capacity plate. Express and SPS are intended for lower engine ranges, while SPS Plus and ESP can support stronger single-outboard applications.

Bennington currently positions Vivid UX as a core M-Series technology and its M-Line page says the 7-inch main display with vessel controls is standard across the line. Trim and floorplan pages describe the vessel-control hardware differently, so buyers should verify the exact display and control configuration on the boat they purchase.

It is worth considering when the boat will carry heavy crews, tow riders, run larger water, or use higher horsepower. A relaxed cruising family may not benefit enough from the extra performance hardware to justify the cost. Sea-trial both when possible.

There is no single tank figure for every M configuration. Fuel arrangement can change with the performance package. Bennington notes a 32-gallon transom tank on select SPS models, while other packages can use different setups. Verify the exact build.

Potentially. Model year, condition, value, seller type, purchase amount, and borrower qualifications all matter. Because the M family is highly configurable, send Float Finance the actual listing rather than asking for a loan based only on “24 M” or “22 MSB.”

Buy the smallest size that comfortably handles the real crew and floorplan you want. Moving from 21 to 26 increases published LOA from 23’3″ to 28’3″, which can change storage, lift, trailer, towing, and dock costs even when the monthly-payment difference appears manageable.

Choose the M Series Build Before the Payment

Pick MFB or MSB, confirm the real LOA, select the performance package and engine, then evaluate financing around that exact boat.
