Why Shop the Formula Boats Sun Sport Series?

The Formula Boats Sun Sport Series is built around sport-cruiser performance with open cockpit entertaining, a cuddy-style cabin and overnight comfort in 31- and 35-foot packages.

Sun Sport is the more traditional sport-cruiser branch. The cockpit remains the center of the day, while the cabin adds protected lounging, sleeping, galley and head capability without turning the boat into a full coupe crossover.

Sun Sport is the simpler two-model decision. The 310 is the more manageable couples cruiser, while the 350 adds a wider beam, fuller galley, more sleeping space and a much larger fuel spread between sterndrive and outboard versions.

Unlike CBR and SSC, the Sun Sport cockpit remains the main social room. The cabin supports the day with sleeping, galley and head functions rather than defining the boat around a full-width coupe.

Formula gives buyers enough propulsion and layout choice that the category name alone is not a buying decision. The exact engine architecture, cabin plan and storage infrastructure need to be chosen together.

A buyer who wants the open-bow plus overnight formula should compare CBR. A buyer who wants a full coupe and deeper crossover cabin should compare SSC. Sun Sport is strongest when the traditional open sport-cruiser cockpit is still the point.

The right series page should help a buyer reject the wrong model before price becomes the focus.

Found the Sun Sport That Fits Your Weekend?

Start your application with the 310 or 350 Sun Sport details with propulsion, hardtop, cabin equipment, engine hours where available and asking price.

310 Sun Sport or 350 Sun Sport?

Choose the 310 when a couple or small family wants the traditional Sun Sport cockpit with enough protected cabin space for a short overnight. Its 9-foot-6-inch beam and 31-foot hull keep the infrastructure step below the 350.

Choose the 350 when a wider 10-foot-9-inch beam, 6-foot-2-inch cabin headroom, full galley and sleeping capacity for up to four will be used often enough to justify the larger platform.

Propulsion deserves a separate decision on both models. Sterndrive and outboard builds change stern access, real overall length, service path and sometimes fuel capacity. The 350’s 162-gallon sterndrive and 252-gallon outboard figures show how dramatically two versions of one model can diverge.

The cabin should be walked before the cockpit closes the sale. Sit on the berth, open the head, use the galley and look for where overnight bags will go. A Sun Sport earns its premium only when the enclosed space is genuinely useful.

If open-bow seating matters more than the traditional sport-cruiser cockpit, a Crossover Bowrider is the more natural Formula branch.

Sun Sport Ownership Is a Two-Part Maintenance Plan

Above deck, the owner maintains a performance cockpit: engines, steering, trim, electronics, wetbar refrigeration, seating hardware, hardtop or Bimini and swim-platform equipment. Below deck, the cabin adds plumbing, climate, galley and moisture-control responsibilities.

The 310’s 138-gallon tank is substantial but still easier to manage than many of Formula’s larger crossovers. The 350 can carry 162 gallons as a sterndrive or 252 gallons as an outboard build, so propulsion choice directly affects fuel weight and operating range.

Sterndrive versions require engine-room ventilation, drive service and winterization. Outboard versions move routine engine access outside the hull but extend the real stern footprint and add exposed lower-unit and rigging checks.

Cabin moisture is one of the most important used-boat inspection items. Check window and hatch seals, air-conditioning drains, head plumbing, refrigerator circuits and any soft goods that spend the season below deck.

Trailer or transport planning follows beam and weight. Neither Sun Sport should be treated like an ordinary runabout simply because a trailer dimension can be calculated. Marina slip, lift and winter storage costs belong in the annual budget.

The strongest Sun Sport purchase leaves enough financial room for both performance-boat service and the hotel systems that make overnighting comfortable.

Formula Sun Sport Series Questions

The package covers Formula 310 Sun Sport and Formula 350 Sun Sport.

The 350 adds four feet of hull length, more than a foot of beam, greater cabin headroom, a fuller galley and sleeping capacity for a larger group.

Yes, depending on model year and configuration. The exact propulsion package should be verified because it changes overall length, fuel capacity and service access.

The 310 is the more compact starting point when two people want day-cruiser performance and occasional overnight space without the 350’s larger marina footprint.

The 350 is the stronger choice when the wider cabin, full galley and sleeping for up to four will be used regularly.

Look for cabin moisture, window or hatch leaks, air-conditioning drainage, head plumbing, refrigerator operation, freshwater pumps and signs of poor winterization.

These are wide, heavy sport cruisers. Transport may be possible with the right equipment, but normal permit-free weekend towing should not be assumed.

Potentially. Model year, condition, value, seller type, transaction amount and borrower qualifications matter. Start your application with the details for a boat-specific review.

Choose the Sun Sport Whose Cabin Extends the Day

If the cockpit, berth, galley and head all fit the way the family actually weekends, financing can be evaluated around the exact 310 or 350 configuration.
